25 Hazrat Syed Manzoor Hussain RT explaining why respect is mandatory for all sahabah-e-karam and Prophets

ایک دفعہ حضرت سید منظور حسینؒ نے ایک سوال کے جواب میں فرمایا محبت عطائ ھے اختیاری نہیں ھے اس لیے اس پر پکڑ نھیں ھے مگر ادب اختیاری ھے اس لئے بے ادبی پر پکڑ ھو سکتی ھے ـ محبت کسی سے بھی زیادہ ہوسکتی ھے اگر کوئ کسی ایک صحابی سے دوسروں سے زیادہ محبت رکھتا ھے تو اس میں حرج نہیں ھے ـ اصحابہ کرام ؓ میں سے کسی سے بھی زیادہ محبت رکھ سکتے ہو مگر ادب و احترام برابر کرنا چاہیے کسی ایک سے دوسرے کے احترام کے مقابلے میں کمی نہیں ہونی چاہیے محبت پر آپ کا اختیار نہیں ھے مگر ادب پر ھے – مزید فرمایا کہ انبیاء علیہ سلام کا بھی سب کا ادب و احترام برابر ہونا چاہیے مگر ایک مسلمان ہونے کے ناطے ھمارا فرض ھےکہ محبت ھمیں سب سے زیادہ حضرت محمد ﷺ سے ہونی چاہیے ، ان کے بعد اگر کسی اور سے بھی محبت ھو تو وہ بھی ٹھیک ہے

English Translation of a Saying of Hazrat Syed Manzoor Hussain (RT):Once Hazrat Syed Manzoor Hussain (RT) in response to a question said that love is uncontrollable therefore there is no accountability for it, but respect is in our control therefore one can be held accountable for it. One can love anyone more than the others, so if love for any (one) Companion (Ashab)ؓ of the Prophet ﷺ is more than the others, there is no harm in it. One can have more love for any one of the companions but respect and reverence should be equal for all. No one should be preferred in terms of respect upon others. As there is no control over love, but respect is within our control. He further added that in case of the Prophets too, we must hold all in equal reverence and respect, but as a muslim its our duty to love Prophet Mohammed ﷺ the most. In addition to this love, its also appropriate to love any other Prophet.
