01 The Start Of Tareeqat From The Prophet PBUH:

01 Start of Tareeqa from The Prophet PBUH

This is a transcript of a talk by Hazrat Sayyidna wa Maulana Manzoor Hussein Sindhi Madani Sahib RT on the start of Tareeqat from The Prophet Peace Be Upon Him:

(May Allah forgive me for any mistakes in the transcription).

—Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala that “we love You and we want to reach You. It is only You That/Who is our beloved”. And if really He is our beloved, it is necessary that we should think and we should try that we should not think of anything till we reach Him. If we go away from here and after a few minutes we forget everything this means we are liars. We have got no connection with Him. It is only to show to the people we have gathered. In reality our gathering is for His sake and for His sake that we should reach Him. We should reach The Prophet and through him we should reach Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala. Otherwise we are liars. We are gathering not for eating, not for talking, not for hearing. It is we gather that we should reach Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala by the way which our Prophet has taught us.

You should know that these tareeqas, which is, which we know and hear of, that Naqshbandi, Qadri, Chishti, Soharwardi and other tareeqas, so many tareeqas, they, these tareeqas are not from, for example, Qadri tareeqa is from Abdul Qadir Jilani Radhi Allah Hu Ta’aala Anhu, and, Naqshbandi tareeqa is from Khawaja Bahauddin Naqshband Rahmat Ullah Ta’aala Alaya or Imam Rabbani, and Chishti tareeqa is Khawaja MoinUddin Chishti Rehmat Ullah Ta’aala, Nooo! It is not so at all. These tareeqas of zikr, if you see the shajara of any tareeqa, you would find that your Shaikh got the tareeqa from his Shaikh and his Shaikh got tareeqa from his Shaikh, till in the end through some people we got that way of zikr from The Prophet Salalahu Alayhi Wa Salam. Our Prophet Salalahu Alayhi Wa Salam taught these tareeqas to 5 people, to 5 people. Who were they? Sayyidna Abi Bakar Siddique, Sayyidna Umar Farooq, Sayyidna Osman, Sayyidna Ali and Sayyida Fatima Tuz Zahra Salam Ullah Alayha. Whenever you find anybody who tells you that aaa, “what tareeqa you have got?” He tells you “my tareeqa is”, for example, Chishtia. You take his book and see that you’d find that right from Sayyidna aa, Khawaja MoinUddin Chishti for example, in Chishti tareeqa, his Shaikh and his Shaikh, till through Sayyidna Ali Al Murtaza, we reach and know that this tareeqa has reached us from The Prophet. Followed? Yes.

And, why were these tareeqas aaa, created? Why these tareeqas were created? In time of Prophet, when anybody came and entered Islam, with very words that he said “La Illaha Illallah hu, Muhammad ar RasoolAllah”. “ Ash hadual La illaha illAllahu, wa Ash hadu an’na Muhammaddan Abdu hu wa Rasoolu hu”. With faith, with, not only with tongue, with faith, he became Muslim, and all the curtains of negligence were removed from him. With seeing of The Prophet —????—, and he reached the point of yaqeen, faith, which now if all Awliaikraam together make tawajoo to anybody they can not make him reach that point. Which those people reached with only one word of the Prophet, and when, with faith, when they said “La illaha illallah, Muhammad ar rasool Alla”, without anything, only by seeing of The Prophet, all those curtains of negligence were removed, were removed, and our Prophet, who was the leader of the world, who was the Aalim in the world, who was man who knew, after Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala, more than anybody else, and he knew all our defects, all our defects and all the things that tomorrow what would be. Therefore he showed us this tareeqa, and not showed us by thought, by word, but by deed. He taught this tareeqa, with regard, through these 5 people, so that whenever, whenever we lose that, lose that nisbat, lose that connection of Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala, which was created by the em nazar, by the sight of the Prophet, when it is lost, they should do, they should go by this path so that again reach this nisbat, and in fact it, it became so, for 200 years, that means in time of Sahaba Ikraam Radhi Allahu Ta’aala Anhu, ba’ad Sahaba those people who saw the Sahaba, and then those people who saw those people who saw the Sahaba, yani Tabieen wa Taba Tabieen, this nisbat of The Prophet went on, but then when they felt that there was some defect in that and they could not see what they saw in the time of The Prophet, then they were in need of this, then they became in need of this, and at that time this was already present, given by The Prophet. Therefore, therefore all those people who felt this, who by these tareeqas again reached that point to the extent Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala desired for them. Followed?

And if this entering of the tareeqa was not necessary, not, I tell you that it is not only necessary for we people who do not know, this is necessary for everybody, he may be aalim, he may be faqeer, he may be anybody, it is necessary for him. If it was (not) necessary, what was the need that Sayyidna Abi Bakr Al Siddique should have taken the tareeqa? What was the use, need that sayyidna Ali Al Murtaza, for whom Nabi Salalahu Alayhi Wa Salam says, “Ana Madinatul Ilm, Wa Aliun Bab a ha”, where was the use that he should have taken the tareeqa? Where was the use that Sayyidna Hassan and Sayyidna Hussein may have taken the tareeqa? Those all people they have entered the tareeqa. Those people who say that no no no these are only Mashaikh who have taught us they do not know. They have got only bisarat, this, they have not got baseerat. They don’t know this. Otherwise if they think for a few minutes, everybody can know that these great people, Sahaba and Ahl e Bait, they have all entered the tareeqa. If it was not necessary then where was the use that they should have entered the tareeqa? You see the shajara of anybody, and of any tareeqa, you find that all those people, big people, they are in tareeqa. Followed? Yes.

Therefore, therefore dear brother, this tareeqa is for this that we should reach Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala, Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala, and the way, and the way for reaching Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala is only the idtiba of shareeat, following the shareeat of The Prophet Salalahu Alayhi wa Salam. Followed?

Nothing exept in this, but because the following of tareeqat, in the real sense of the word, word is not possible until and unless this heart is purified. Prophet says, in Bukhari Shareef, is Hadees, Prophet says, “Alaa in na fil jasadi mudghatan”, you should know that in the body of a man, there is one piece of meat, “alaa in na fil jasadi mudghatan”, in the body of a man is a piece of meat, “iza salhat, salhat jasadu kuluhu”, if it is purified, if it is refined, then the whole body would be refined, “iza salhat, salhat jasadu kuluhu, wa iza fasadat, fasadat jasadu kuluhu”, and if it is impurified, then the whole body would be impurified, “alaa wa heeal qalb”, you should know that it is your heart. It is your heart. Purification of heart is necessary for the improvement, all kind of improvement. Because Prophet says. It is not our words, Prophet’s words.

And how can be purified? How can that be purified? Once Nabi Salalahu Alayhi wa Salam, our Prophet, gathered a few Sahaba, who came to him. Nabi Salalahu Alayhi wa Salam told them that you should know that this heart becomes rusted, just like iron. “al kulb u yasdau zay yasdaul hadeed”. These are the words. This heart becomes rusted just (like) iron becomes rusted. They said, “ma jilaha ya Rasool Allah?” ya Rasool Allah how can that be purified? How can that rust be removed? Prophet says, that it can be removed by remembering death, by reciting Holy Quran, by reciting Asma of Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala. All these three things mean zikr, because zikr means rememberence. Meaning of zikr is rememberence. Understand? You may recite Quran, you may read Durood Shareef, you may read any Isma of Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala, you may sit here and speak just as we are speaking. This is all zikr. Understand? By the zikr this qalb will be purified, therefore for the purification of the heart, this zikr is necessary. Understand?

Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala, just (as) The Prophet has said, Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala says in His Holy book, He says “Yaum a la anfau maaluw wa la banoon, Illa man athAllahha bi qalbin saleem”, the day of resurrection would be such that neither this wealth that you have gathered, neither your children for whom you have gathered this, would benefit you, “youm” youm means youm al qiyamat, “la yanfau maaluw wa la banoon” is a pure words, no difference in making meaning of that. Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala says that this wealth that you have gathered or the children for whom you have gathered, would not benefit you at all, “Illa man athAllaha bi qalbin saleem”, but if you bring before me the purified heart, the refined heart, it is only that, that would give you salvation. Followed? Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala says in the Holy Quran, you have read this Ayath? It is in Quran, “Yaum a la anfau maaluw wa la banoon, Illa man athAllahha bi qalbin saleem”, these are the words, pure words, yes.

But now the question is that how can it be purified? Allah Subha Hu Ta’aala says, at a second place, “Alaa bi zikrillahi tatma inul qulub”, it is only through the zikr that’s, that this heart may have peace. That means we should be purified. It is only the zikr. Not that you think that today you have got one million of rupees and tomorrow you’ve got two millions, you would be at peace and you would sit down and make “Allah Allah”, nooo, not at all. If tomorrow you have got three millions, you shall have more troubles, and more difficulties. Because Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala has told us, has showed us the way, that if you want purification of the heart it is only zikr. With “Alaa”, “Alaa” is kalma of hisaar, that there’s no other way except with this, “Alaa bi zikrillahi tatma inul qulub”, “Alaa bi zikrillahi tatma inul qulub”. It is only by this way that you can reach a, have the peace of mind. Follow dear sir? Yes.

And then, some people, some good people of Allah say that “when zikr means this, when the necessary that one should get, take the zikr from Mashaikh, from this man, from particular man? One can read Quran, Holy Quran, and one can read durood shareef and one can read Asmaa Illahi himself.” It is right. It is right. One can do this. But we do not see that anybody who has not taken zikr from his shaikh, we see that there’s not a single man in the world who’s heart has become alive and made zikr. You go and ask and see, anybody an everybody. Even those people who make tableegh, and say so many things, they have got their Mashaikh. They’ve got their Mashaikh from whom they have taken the zikr, and they are present from Maulana Idrees, up to Maulana Muhammad Zakaria. They take zikr, and they go and make tableegh. It is alright. this is all right. But, they take the zikr, they make Bayyath. Not that without that they are doing that. If without that anybody does, and he reaches, also to some point, then, tomorrow he would be, he would be miss, he would be miss guided. Ustaad is necessary. Ustaad is necessary. Without ustaad, this bread that we are taking daily, until and unless one teaches us how to filter this bread, one can not filter this bread himself. Which we are taking daily. Ustaad is necessary for everything. Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala says in the Holy Quran, “Wabtaghu ilayhil waseela”, you take waseela, you take, through some source you should come to me. If it was not, is not necessary where was the use of the prophets? Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala was suficiant. He would have taught us through himself. Where was the use of coming of Sayyidna Jibreel Alayhis Salam to Sayyidna Rasool Allah Salalahu Alayhi Wa Salam. It was the way that it has been shown to us, that this is the way that you should adopt and should do.

And, Nabi Salalahu Alayhi Wa Salam, who’s shariat I have told you, that without his shariat nobody can reach to the goal, nobody can reach to the object. For the shariat, Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala says, Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala says, that, “wa ma ataa kumur rasoolo fakhuzhu”, whatever The Prophet gives to you, you take hold of that, “wa ma ataa kumur rasoolo fakhuzhu, wa ma nahaa anhu fantahu”, and the thing that he forbids you not to do it, don’t do it. Not that anybody an everybody, whatever he likes he may do, or any peer, or any murshid, if he tells you, you do these things, and it is against the shariat, no. we are not bound to do that. And if we do that, we would be drowned. It is only the shariat, it is only the following of orders of The Prophet that one can reach their goal. Understand?

And I, just as I told you, this zikr also has reached us through The Prophet, if it has reached us through the devil you would not have done it. Have you followed? Yes.

Sooo, in a word, in a word, for example this is the first night, in a word, if we want that we should reach Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala, we, just we have entered the tareeqa, and I have told you that this means we have made promise with Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala that “we want you, you are only our beloved”. We follow The Prophet, we follow Awlias, we follow all Ulamas, because they teach us that tareeqa, if they teach us something else we are not bound to follow them. We are ordered to follow The Prophet only, and Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala says, “wa ma ataa kumur rasoolo fakhuzhu, wa ma nahaa anhu fantahu”, whatever he tells you, you take hold of that, and whatever he forbids you from that, you don’t do it. And then, at second place, Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala says, “wa maee uti’ir rasoolo fa qad ataa Allah”, if anybody he makes obedience to the orders of The Prophet, that means he makes obedience to the orders of Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala, “wa maee uti’ir rasoolo”, he who makes obedience to the orders of Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala (The Rasool), this means he makes obedience to the orders of Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala, there is no difference in that, because Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala would not come to anybody, and telling him in his ear that “you do like this”. Thousands and lacs of peers have been misled by this, that they have gone according to their ilhamaath, according to their manamaath, manamaath means dreams, they’ve been seeing, and they’ve taken themselves to be something very great, and they’ve lost everything. Until and unless you are obedient to the orders of The Prophet, we can not reach any object or any goals. Understand?

Second place Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala says, that why it is so, that you should follow The Prophet? And this is obedience, my obedience, why? Because Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala says, that, “wa maa yantiq anil hawa”, your Prophet, this man whom I have sent as a rasool, “wa maa yantiq anil hawa”, he does not talk according to the hawas of his nafs, “wa maa yantiq anil hawa”, he never speaks just as his nafs tells him, “in hua illa wahyuyee yuhaa”, but he tells you when Wahee is made to him, when he is odered to do that thing. It is only that, that he tells you, that means it is My order that he tells. It is not from his a, his heart that he tells you. Therefore you should follow him.

Dear brothers, this, I think these few words are, at this time sufficient, now we will sit in zikr, and sit in zikr, and sit in zikr just as I told you, to shut up your eyes, you shut up your eyes, shut up your mouth, and let your breath go from the nose so that you may not have any difficulty in breathing and then think that your heart says “Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah”, and you should know that is light of Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala, Noor of Allah Subhana Hu ta’aala, which is present at every place at, at every, everything, also is present here, but we can not see, we are as if drowned in that Noor, because every Muslim knows that there is no place where Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala is not present, it is not an unreal thing. So we should think that Noor of Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala is present, and we are, as if, drowned in that, and our hearts say “Allah, Allah, Allah”, and wants to meet Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala, wants to be drowned in that Noor, in a way that it should not be known to anybody, only Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala remains there. We should make zikr in this way. Now shut up your eyes, shut up your mouth, let the breath go from your nose, and think that your heart makes “Allah, Allah”, and makes “Allah, Allah” to meet Him, to forget everything else because Allah Subhana Hu Ta’aala says that (paraphrasing) fazkur Allah ha zikran katheera la’al la kum tuflihoon, you make My zikr but you make My zikr more and more, and how you should make zikr? He says in His Holy Quran “wazkur isma Rabika, wa tabatal illayhi tabteela”, you make My zikr, make zikr of My Isam, My Name, in a way that you cut off all other connections, and you only remember Me, you take out all the wisawis, wiswisas from your quloob, from your hearts, and think about Me alone. That is the way that you would reach —-.
