06 The purpose of life: Servitude of allah and Zikr-e-Allah

زندگی حاصل براےۤ بندگی

زندگی بے بندگی شرمندگی

یہ حیاتی جو ہے خالص عبادت کیلئے ہے خالص ذکر کیلئے ہے اور وہ زندگی جو عبادت میں مشغول نہیں ہے اور ذکر میں مشغول نہیں ہے وہ شرمندگی ہے۔

برہم کُنُ پردہ زِرُخ بے مھابہ

یکے زِ وعدہ تُو روزِ فردا

اپنے منہ مبارک سے پردہ ہٹا دے اور کل کا اور آج کا وعدہ ایک کر دے یعنی آج ہی اپنی زیارت سے مشرف فرما۔

شرح: یا اللّہ تو نے وعدہ کیا ہے کہ قیامت کے دن تیرا دیدار ھو گا اور تیرے دیدار کو تیری جانب بندے ایسے دیکھیں گے جیسے چودھویں رات میں چاند کو دیکھتے ہیں، لیکن اے میرے مولا تو اپنے فضل وکرم سے اس جہاں میں ہی وہ وعدہ پورا کر دے۔

English translation:

زندگی حاصل براءے بندگی

زندگی بے بندگی شرمندگی

This life is purely for servitude to Allah, is purely for “Zikr”(remembrance of Allah),and life that is not occupied in this servitude, and is not absorbed in “Zikr -e-Allah” is an embarrassment.

برہم کن پردہ زرخ بے مھابہ

یکے ز وعدہ تو روز فردا

Lift the veil from your Divine Face and fulfill today the promise that is for tomorrow, that is let me behold (see) You today.

Explanation: O’ Allah, its Your promise that we would behold You on the Day of Judgement and people will see You as they view the full moon, but O’ my Lord, with Your bounty and mercy, fulfill the promise in this world.
