This is an audio recording of a talk given my Hazrat Syed Haji Maulana Manzoor Hussain Sindhi Madani RT on the state of perfection and how to achieve it, given in around July/August 1980 in the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago, in the West Indies, in the North Atlantic Ocean.

State of Perfection, by Hazrat Manzoor Hussain RT
… Prophet Sallallah-o-alaihe-wasallam in this recpect, was, Syedna Abu Bakr Siddique, Syedna Umer Farooq, Syedna Usman, Syedna Ali, Syeda Fatima-tu-Zahra Salaam-ullah.
And what is the proof for this? The proof for this is that when you go to the Bazar, you meet anybody who is in any Silsila, you take his Silsila book, and see that he has taken zikr from his spiritual guide. His spiritual guide has taken zikr from his spiritual guide, so much so that that zikr has gone from one spiritual guide to the other, up to Syedna Abu Bakr Siddique and from Abu Bakr Siddique to Syedna Rasool Allah Sallallah-o-alaihe-wasallam. Or it has gone to Syedna Umer, and then to the Prophet Sallallah-o-alaihe-wasallam. Or to Syedna Ali, or Syedna Usman, Syeda Fatima-tu-Zahra, and from them to the Prophet Sallallah-o-alaihe-wasallam. This is the proof for that. Have you followed?
And you try when I have told you to go and see if there is anybody, one man, who out of millions and billions, who has not taken zikr from any Pir and his heart has been alive and lightened. But you may not even understand fully by this, that when heart is alive and when it is enlightened, you should know that those people whose hearts are alive and enlightened, they meet the dead bodies, just as we meet one another. Not only that, but they can talk to them, they can take instructions from them. They can benefit themselves by taking knowledge from them. Followed? And still, this can reach him from the Mashaikh to the Sahaba, Ahl-e-Bayt and the Prophet Sallallah-o-alaihe-wasallam. Till, we the human beings, can, making this zikr, reach the Prophet Salallah-o-alaihe-wasallam, and when we reach the Prophet Salallah-o-alaihe-wasallam from there it is that one gets the Tajalli of Allah Subhanawa-Ta’alah. And in the end he gets Ilham from Allah Subhanawa-Ta’alah, to the extent just Allah Subhanawa-Ta’alah speaks to the human being. So this is the result of this purification of heart.
Followed? Have you followed? So similarly, one thing to make you understand, that who’s the man who is perfect? How can you know that such and such man is perfect? Perfect is one who outwardly follows the Shariat, and inwardly makes zikr till he reaches his Mashaikh, Mashaikh, and from Mashaikh to Ahl-e-Bayt and Sahaba and The Prophet Sallallah-o-alaihe-wasallam, and to Allah Subhanawa-Ta’alah. Such a man who can get the reply, and perfect reply from these sources is a perfect man. Followed?
So then there raises one question as to when this is perfection, then where is the use of this Latifa-e-Ruh and Sirr and Khafi and Akhfah and Nafs and the whole Anasir. When one, one can become perfect by making zikr by the hearts only, and when it is alive and enlightened, this takes to the perfection. And where is the use of other things? This you should understand. From Ruh also the same thing is obtained.
Which I think tonight I can’t tell you that’s one. Because I cannot speak so much. But to tell you, that you understand, that very thing which I tell you one gets from heart for perfection, same thing one gets from Ruh for perfection. What, what does it mean? That from this Latifa of Ruh also he can meet our Mashaikh. He can meet the Prophet Sallallah-o-alaihe-wasallam, and he can meet Allah Subhanawa-Ta’alah. Similarly from all other Latifas, same thing could be had. But same thing in better form, in higher form. For example, I see this man sitting before me. I can say I see Shaad Khan. I really see him. And this is perfection, I talk to him. But there are some instruments. If I took those instruments between myself and Shaad Khan, I can see him more clear, and can hear more clear, and can attain my object more clear. Therefore being with these stages again. Otherwise, so many Mashaikhs, and many of the Mashaikh of the olden times, they had their Sulook, their way of reaching Allah Subhanawa Ta’aalah up to this Latifah of heart only. Have you followed? Therefore, this heart is called Jaam-e-Kamalaat; Latifah which has got all the perfections in it.
When I told you that perfection is to reach the Mashaikh, to Ahl-e-Bayt, Sahabas, Prophet and Allah. And this can be had from the heart, it is sufficient. Follow dear sirs? So I think I would beg to be excused, because again I can speak more. But you must have understood what is meant by these Latifas.
Haa one thing, a little thing I can tell you, that Just as I told you that from the Prophets, Syedna Adam alaihe-Salaam was first man to go by this Latifa of Qalb to Allah Subhanawa-Ta’aalah. Similarly from this Latifah of Ruh, first from the Prophets who went to Allah Subhanawa-Ta’aalah was Syedna Ibrahim alaihe-Salaam, and Nuh alaihe-Salaam. And all the other Prophets who have gone this, by this Latifah of Ruh, they are to be going to Allah Subhanawa-Ta’aalah by the same path and way by which Syedna Ibrahim alaihe-Salaam and Hazrat Nuh alaihe-Salaam went. And also I should tell you, that just as the colour of the first Latifa-e-Qalb is golden, the colour of the light of this Latifah-e-Ruh is red. Followd? This is also red (???).
And similarly, this Latifah Sirr. Sirr, from the Prophets, Syedna Essa alaihe-Salaam was the first man to go by this way. And all the Prophets and Saints who have been going by this way, they are called ‘Eesvi-al-Mashrab’. And this Latifah of Khafi. Han, Latifah of Sirr, it’s colour is white. Just like sun, white colour. And this Latifah of Khafi which is near Ruh, this Latifah, first of the Prophets who went by this way to Allah Subhanawa-Ta’aalah was Syedna Musa alaihe-Salaam. And therefore all the Prophets and Saints going by that Latifah are said to be ‘Musvi- al-Mashrab’. ‘Eesvi-al-Mashrab’, ‘Adam’i- al-Mashrab’, ‘Ibrahim’i- al-Mashrab’. Just like this. And the colour of this Latifah is black. Light of this Latifah is black, just as you put black colour upon the bulb, and you gives black light. Followed?
And then comes the turn of Latifah of Akhfah which is here, centre of the breast. This Latifah is under the foot of, under the command of, first Prophet of the Prophets going by this way was Nabi Sallallah-o-alaihe-wassallam. Our Nabi Sallallah-o-alaihe-wassallam. And its colour is green. Its colour is green. So these are the big roads by which hundreds and thousands of Prophets and Saints and other people have gone to Allah Subhanawa-Ta’aalah.
So, for this purpose these Latifas were put in the insaan. And these Latifas which I told you are all of Aalam al Khalq, Khalq, they assist insaan for the perfection of tradition, and also for the perfection of Deen. And just as I told you, that when Qalb is alive with zikr, alive with zikr, all the Latifas become alive with zikr, all the Latifas are enlightened. And also those Latifas of Aalam al Khalq, Khalq, are making zikr and also enlightened.
This thing I not, I do not tell you from the books, but from my friends just like you. So many have confessed that now their all Latifas are enlightened and make zikr, so much so that they make zikr from head to foot. From head to foot. And they make zikr and they are enlightened from head to foot. And are present, they are not in books, they are our friends. And they are those who that they meet our spiritual guides and meet The Prophet Sallallah-o-alaihe-wassallam. Follow?
So this is the (???) of benefit of taking zikr from Mashaikh. And you should know dear brothers when this is such an important thing, to what extent we should put our effort to complete it. We should try that for the twenty-four hours, our heart is not ignorant of remembrance of Allah Subhanawa Ta’alah. The more we do the more we attain. Though I have told you that it is not only upon benefit, by the Tawajjoh of Shaikh, by the Tawajjoh of Mashaikh, also same thing takes place. Hearts become alive, hearts become enlightened. But, the ordinary way, the ordinary course for achieving this object, is that we should make zikr. We should complete the lessons. And then and then alone, we can say that we have got right upon Allah Subhanawa Ta’alah. Though it is without that. Follow dear Sirs? So with these few words I tell you…
…wa Salaam, was saying, so many times he says, that, reading of Quran, reading of salaat shareef, reading of all the wazifas, we take sawab from that. We take Jannat, we get Paradise, we got, we get palaces in Paradise. No doubt about it. Therefore, there’s, it has been given in the books. But to reach Allah Subhanawa Ta’alah is the only way through the Sheikh. These are the words of Hazrat-ush-Sheikh razi-Allah-Ta’alah-anho. Followed? Therefore Hazrat-e-Sheikh said that one who is Haafiz al Quran, it is necessary that he should read ten sipaarahs or fifteen sipaarahs, when he forgets, he may not forget. But Hazrat-ush-Sheikh said that even for a Haafiz, it’s sufficient that he should read one Paara and a Ruku, and other time he should stay in making zikr. These are the words of Hazrat-ush-Shaikh Razi-Allah-Ta’alah-anho. And so many examples.
Because why is it so? Because Allah Subhanawa Ta’alah on the day when He created insaan, He gave him everything that he lacked. Any and every position that he has to attend in this world was given to him on that day. And on that day, that particular man, just as we are, we were given in hands of the Prophets and Mashaikh, and this thing which we have got today, this was given to us on that day. In Persian is a couplet that ‘har kasey ra bahr paro saakhan, wera darde nashan daakhan’. Allah o Subhanawa Ta’alah has created different people for different work, not that all make zikr, all make muraqaba, all go to Pir. Some are carpenters, some are, some are merchants. Some are people of different types doing different work. So Allah Subhanawa Ta’alah has created everybody for different work. And those who He has selected for this, it is necessary that we should complete that, and should know that He, because of His love, has chosen us for zikr, for His own self. Follow? With these few words I would beg leave of you all.
…Salay Alaa Sayyidina Muhammadin, Salaat tan Taghfir biha Zunoobana wa Tastur biha Uyoobana wa Yaqzi biha Hajaatina wa Duyoonana wa Tarzuqna biha Ziarat wa Shifa’athe Sayyadi wa Murshidi Qibla Pir Sain and Sayyidna Rasool Allah Salalahu Alayhi wa Salam.
